Unequal Aftermath: Economic Vulnerability During and Post Divorce
MFAC held its second Family Law Symposium in May 2026 at Suffolk University Law School. Retired judges, private-pay and legal services attorneys, leading financial experts, and advocates came together to learn about the causes of the unequal economic aftermath of divorce and the divorce process. Keynote speakers Margo Cook, CFP, CDFA, CAP, Rothschild Capital Partners, and Adrienne Adams, PhD, Professor of Psychology, Michigan State University, explained how to identify and assess financial abuse and quantify economic harm in divorce actions.

Hon. Maureen Monks (ret.). a prominent family law lawyer before serving as a Probate and Family Court judge, she now works as an Access to Justice Fellow with the Volunteer Lawyers Project, helping to provide pro bono conciliation services to self-represented litigants.
